Apple’s iPhone 16 Series has garnered significant attention even before its official launch, with key specifications and pricing details leaking out. The upcoming iPhone 16 Series is expected to focus on improved optics, larger displays, and a notable price hike.
iPhone 16 Series Pros and Upgrades
Let’s start with the pros. According to leaker Apple Hub 28, the iPhone 16 Pro variants will introduce a groundbreaking ‘Tetraprism’ telephoto periscope lens. This innovative feature will offer up to 5x optical zoom, enhancing the photography experience.
Both the Pro models in the iPhone 16 Series are set to impress with larger screen sizes. The iPhone 16 Pro will now measure 6.3 inches, while the Pro Max will expand to an impressive 6.9 inches. These larger displays aim to provide a more immersive viewing experience for users.
The standard iPhone 16 and its Plus variant, on the other hand, will maintain their familiar screen sizes at 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively. Unfortunately, these screens are still capped at 60Hz, which might disappoint users expecting a higher refresh rate.
Powerful Chipsets Under the Hood
Under the hood, the iPhone 16 Series comes equipped with powerful chipsets. The standard and Plus variants will feature the Apple A18 chip, while the Pro models will be powered by the A18 Pro. Both of these chipsets are built on TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process node (N3E), ensuring faster performance and better energy efficiency. Of course, the A18 Pro will offer a more powerful experience.
Apple Intelligence: A Leap in Performance?
All models in the iPhone 16 Series will reportedly include Apple Intelligence. This means that the entire lineup is expected to come with at least 8GB of RAM. Another report suggests that a minimum of 8GB of memory is necessary to run Apple Intelligence properly. However, it’s important to take this information with a grain of salt, as it doesn’t confirm that Apple Intelligence will be available at launch. Previously, it was rumored that the release of Apple Intelligence might be delayed until October.
iPhone 16 Series Pricing
In terms of pricing, Apple is expected to raise the starting price of the iPhone 16 Pro by USD 100, following last year’s strategy. This would set the starting price for the iPhone 16 Pro at USD 1,099. Meanwhile, pricing for the standard iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will remain consistent, starting at USD 799 and USD 899, respectively.
